Benevolence Ministry

Mission:
The purpose of the Benevolence ministry is to restore holistically a person or family in crisis. This ministry focuses on three areas of crisis: emotional, physical and spiritual.

Vision:
No Memberof the Body of Christ should be without food, shelter, clothing, and adequate financial resources.
James 2:15-16 Galatians 6:2. "Bear one another's burdens and thus fulfill the law of Christ, and give to the people in need".

The assistance offered by Mzizi Community Care is three dimensional. First is to assist with the basic necessities of life as funding and resources allow. Secondly, to offer support and make available resources to enable the individual and/or family to go through the initial crisis and make plans to bring stability for the future. Thirdly, to bridge a gap for the individual to connect with Jesus by seeing first hand - how God uses a local church to assist in providing for their physical and emotional needs.

How can I get involved?
There are two basic ways to get involved:

1. Financially: The Benevolence Ministry depends on the gifts and donations. Without this assistance we would not be able to help individuals and families during their time of crisis or need.

2. Volunteer: As our Benevolence Ministry grows and develops, volunteers are essential in assisting those who are struggling.

Types of Benevolence

Helping Hands Ministry:

General help for Mzizi families during times of illness, tragedy or crisis. When there is a crisis, death, illness or other needs that we are made aware of, we send a meal to the family as a way of showing our care, love and compassion to the family or persons in need.

Special Assistance:
1. Provides short-term monetary assistance.

2. Food pantry for those in need throughout the year.

Funerals
Funerals at Mzizi glorify our loving heavenly Father, honor the person who has passed away, and offer hope to all, regardless of their circumstances. The pastors, Church members, and staff come alongside family and friends who have lost loved ones and show them compassion, comfort, and encouragement.

Call the church’s main office (contacts below) to let us know you need to schedule a funeral.

Are there any charges for this?
There are no charges, our desire is to stand alongside and serve you in whatever way we can.

Our pastor and musicians are available to help lead the service. Contact the office at:

Hospital and Extended Care visitation
No one relishes hospital stays, periods of rehabilitation, or extended care. Anxiety often accompanies hospitalizations, and extended care can cause isolation from family, friends, and the church community. Our Mzizi pastor and caring volunteers seek to lift these burdens by visiting and praying with brothers and sisters in the hospital or extended care.

Two Ways to Request a Visit
1. For pastoral hospital visits, call our 612-414-3184.

2. To let us know of an individual in extended care, call the officed at Office: (763) 587-8137.
Provide the person’s name, their hospital or care facility, and the dates they are expected to be there.

If you have an urgent need for pastoral care at other times, call the Pastor at (612) 414-3184. If you are experiencing an emergency, please call 911.

Weddings
Your wedding is a sacred celebration. Your plans for the service should reflect that fact and also align with the beliefs and worship practices of Mzizi International Church. Careful planning will ensure that your wedding is meaningful to you, your family, and friends.

Marriage is for a lifetime and therefore deserving all your attention, time and energy. Good things cost, and this certainly is one of the most valuable 'investments" you will ever make in life.

Our Pastor is available to work with you in this process. Please note the following requirements:

  • A Commitment to Mzizi: You are a registered member or a reqular attendee of not less than three months, or you may also present a letter of attendance/transfer from the Pastor of your previous church.
  • Marriage Preparation Counseling is designed for engaged and pre-engaged couples who are considering marriage. This Eight week class is designed to help couples CONSIDER and PREPARE for the life-long partnership of marriage.  It is required of those who desire to be married by Mzizi pastor and is appropriate both for those who are engaged, those who are seriously dating and exploring the issue, those in early marriage who did not have an opportunity for a pre-marriage class. This interactive class will help you prepare for the practical challenges involved with unspoken expectations, communication, handling conflict, decision making, finances, spirituality, and sexual intimacy.
