Our Beginnings
Formally known as Destiny fellowship, Mzizi international was started by a group of young men and Women who felt a call to start a ministry that would reach international students and immigrants living in the twin cities for Christ under the leadership of Pastor Richard Munala. Initially these young people met once a month for fellowship to encourage one another in their faith and introduce others to Christ. Students from as far as Marshall and Fargo travelled 3-4 hours once a month to attend these fellowships.
After three years of growing together as a fellowship and seeing the Lord not only add more to the fellowship but bring many into His kingdom, the group began to pray concerning God’s direction in helping the new believers get established and find a place of ministry within the body of Christ. There was also a need to reach out to more immigrants mainly from Kenya and introduce them to Christ as the sure foundation upon which to build one’s life. Hundreds of international citizens have come to the Twin cities from all points on the globe to study, work, or make a life in our community.

After much prayer and fasting, it become clear that God was leading Destiny fellowship to begin meeting Sundays in order to meet the needs of the those who had come to Christ, worship and communion.
The name destiny fellowship was changed to Mzizi international to help reflect the mission and vision of this ministry. Our Mission is to provide a place for people to reconnect with God and help them grow deeper roots in Christ and as a result serve Him passionately.
Many of those involved in the Mzizi International Ministry are students. Others are couples who are building a life here, and still others have been here for many years but still treasure the customs and traditions of their homeland and enjoy spending time with others who share a common heritage.
It has been wonderful to see God bring in not only internationals but also people from around who love to worship God in many languages.
Membership
Becoming a Mzizi Member
You will bring your faith to life as you join other Christians who share your values and spiritual goals! Membership is more than simply a statement of where you worship, it is a commitment to the mission and ministries of Mzizi Church.Members serve together as we experience intimacy with God, influence in our community, inspiration across the nation, and impact in the world with the Gospel of Christ! As you connect with this local body of believers, you can develop a deeper sense of significance and belonging in the family of God.
Church membership is not a means of salvation; becoming a member of Mzizi or any other church does not assure anyone of eternal life in heaven. Church membership also is not a requirement for worshipping or serving at Mzizi, and it is not a command found in the Bible. The Bible does tell believers, however, to meet regularly with a group of Christians who love, serve, and encourage one another (see Ephesians 4:16, I Timothy 3:15, and Romans 12:4-5).
